Fate of Rimor

A space scene featuring a large planet with dark, cloudy surface and glowing orange lights, set against a starry background.

Welcome to Fate of Rimor!

My vision for Fate of Rimor is to create a vast, alien world teeming with monstrous lifeforms—each with distinct attack patterns, abilities, and behaviors. The planet is divided into dozens of biomes, each offering unique environments and challenges that evolve over time. What sets Fate of Rimor apart is the immersive gameplay experience. This isn’t just the story of one legendary hero—it’s a journey through a living, breathing world. A place where survival depends on teamwork, adaptability, and understanding a planet that doesn't revolve around you. Rimor moves, grows, and resists—whether you're watching or not.

You’ll wield powerful magic abilities, an arsenal of futuristic weapons, and command a wide range of tanks, aircraft, boats, and other advanced vehicles—all of which play a vital role in exploring this alien world where the laws of physics don’t quite apply.

FAQs

This is a brand new project that has been in development for only 2 years, so I bet you have a lot of questions.

  • Fate of Rimor is a massive open-world action RPG. Where you will explore a massive planet that has appeared out of nowhere. Physics don’t seem to fully apply here; there are floating trees, an ocean biome made out of mountains of water, and floating islands of water.

  • The game will be built around PC however, if we can get the game to launch on console, we will try to get it launched on all platforms

  • This will be a multiplayer game where you can play with up to 4 friends; however, the game is also completely offline if you so choose to play by yourself. No internet connection is needed to launch or load into the game.

  • Fate of Rimor is designed to be massive. The final vision includes over 14 hand-crafted biomes, each ranging from 10 km² to 40 km², depending on their design and role in the story. We’re starting with a single fully realized biome in the first playable release to ensure depth, quality, and polish—then expanding over time. Our goal is to create a living, breathing world that grows with the community.

  • What makes Fate of Rimor different from other sci-fi RPGs?
Fate of Rimor sets itself apart through its deeply layered lore, a world where the rules of physics bend and break, and a sense of scale that few games attempt. From massive, diverse creatures to a wide array of custom vehicles, the world feels alive, dangerous, and unpredictable. Players will uncover and wield cosmic abilities that reshape how they explore, fight, and interact with the environment—making every moment feel powerful and otherworldly.

  • Fate of Rimor doesn't rely on traditional XP levels — instead, progression is all about discovery. As you explore Rimor’s vast biomes, you'll unlock powerful new abilities, uncover ancient ruins, and gain access to entirely new ways to interact with the world. Progression is tied to how deeply you engage with the environment, the mysteries you uncover, and the challenges you overcome. Every ability you gain changes how you play — and how you survive.

  • Yes—and no. Fate of Rimor doesn’t feature traditional base-building, but instead allows players to construct strategic outposts, research stations, hangars, and deployment hubs. These structures serve specific purposes—like reducing vehicle and airstrike call-in times, expanding troop and vehicle support, or unlocking tech and upgrades. Bases are about tactical influence, not building custom bases—they let you shape the battlefield, not hide from it.

  • Rimor is teeming with life — some beautiful, some deadly, and some beyond comprehension. Each biome holds its own ecosystem filled with alien species, cosmic horrors, and biomechanical hybrids that defy natural law. You’ll encounter:

    • Massive apex predators that stalk you from the shadows

    • Phantom-like illusion beasts that flicker in and out of reality

    • Swarm creatures that multiply endlessly if left unchecked

    • Bioluminescent wildlife that lure you in with beauty before striking

    • Floating leviathans in the sky-ocean biomes

    • Biomechanical monstrosities fused with ancient tech

    • Dream-eating serpents that only attack while you rest

    • Terrain-bound shapeshifters that blend into the world itself

    • Cosmic-borne parasites that attach to vehicles or gear and mutate them

    • Creatures made of pure storm energy, corrupted light, or gravity distortions

    And that’s just the beginning.

Every creature is designed not just to be fought, but to make you think, adapt, and survive in a world where nature has rewritten the rules.

  • We are currently not planning on multiple endings; however, the game is still in early development, so it could change over time.

  • Yes! The main villain leads the enemy faction that will help explain what is happening and how the world of Rimor came to be. But also why the physics don’t apply, and the world revolves around combat on the planet with both monsters and the main enemy faction

  • Fate of Rimor begins when a massive, uncharted planet mysteriously appears in our solar system — completely undetectable until it’s already there. A scientific and military team from the planet Athora is sent to investigate. One year later, you arrive as Connor, joining the team with your wife Saryn… but the moment you enter the atmosphere, everything changes.

You're struck by a blinding surge of soul-tearing pain—the awakening of a long-forgotten force known as Cosmic Power. From that moment on, your mission shifts from investigation to survival… and then to revelation.

    Your objective becomes clear:

    • Uncover the truth behind Rimor's existence

    • Master cosmic abilities that rewrite the laws of reality

    • Defend against monstrous wildlife and an ancient enemy that once wiped out everyone with powers like yours

    • And stop the Harbinger of Death — the last living being to wield the full power of the cosmos—from finishing what he started.

Fate of Rimor is a journey of power, mystery, and destiny. The planet is alive, watching you… And it has plans of its own.

  • You play as Connor, a battle-hardened rebel from the planet Fisstafistis — a man forged in war, known for leading a revolution that toppled a brutal regime. His unmatched resolve and leadership caught the attention of Rimor’s command, and he was invited to join the military force stationed there.

But when Connor enters Rimor’s atmosphere, he’s hit by a soul-tearing pain — not from injury, but from awakening. Buried deep inside him is a power thought extinct: the Cosmic Force, an ancient energy that once shaped reality itself.

Only one other currently wields such power; little is known about him—he is only known as the Harbinger of Death—who spent centuries wiping out every other wielder of the cosmic power across the stars. Until now.

Connor’s existence changes everything. And the harbinger of death… is already on his way.

  • Known only as the Harbinger of Death, he is the immortal ruler of the Shadow Empire — a vast, galaxy-spanning dictatorship forged after the fall of every other wielder of cosmic power. Where once cosmic beings fought for dominance, only he remains.

Using the unmatched force of the Cosmic Power, he united the powerless under one banner — not with hope, but with fear. He created a world of peace and prosperity, but only for those who kneel. Any resistance, any shred of free will, is seen as a flaw — a threat that must be erased.

To his followers, he is a savior. To the rest of the universe, he is extinction.

Now, for the first time in centuries, someone else has awakened the power he believed extinct.

And the Harbinger is coming to Rimor… to restore what he calls balance — even if it means burning everything to the ground.

  • The biomes of Fate of Rimor are more than just environments — they’re living, breathing characters in the story. Each biome is radically different, with its own set of gameplay mechanics, environmental quirks, and secrets woven deep into the terrain.

Some twist reality. Others fight back. All of them serve a greater purpose — as if the planet itself is trying to test you, speak to you, or stop you.

Biomes are where battles unfold, where forgotten powers hide, and where the truth about Rimor begins to surface. At the heart of each is a spirit — a force that must be confronted to uncover whether it is being controlled… or contained.

Rimor is alive. And every biome is a piece of its soul.

  • No — Rimor is completely isolated from the rest of the universe, and that’s by design.

There are no portals, no starships jumping between worlds, and no way to call for help. Once you’re on Rimor, you’re cut off — physically, technologically, and cosmically.

This isolation is part of the planet’s mystery. Rimor isn’t just a place — it’s a test, a trap, and a force of its own. Whatever brought it into the solar system did so for a reason… and escaping it isn’t part of the plan.

  • Fate of Rimor is being developed by Rimor Studios, an independent studio led by a solo developer with a bold vision and unwavering resolve.

While the core of the game is currently being built solo, the journey has already begun to attract voice talent and early testers for when the time is right. Now, the focus is on securing funding to bring in programmers and collaborators who can help bring the world of Rimor to life.

This isn’t just a game — it’s the beginning of something bigger. Fate of Rimor is a project built on passion, sacrifice, and the belief that even one person can build a world worth fighting for.

  • Fate of Rimor is an indie project being developed under a newly founded studio — Rimor Studios.

The game is built with the passion and freedom of indie development, but with the long-term vision of growing into a full, professional studio. Right now, it's led by a solo developer — but the foundation has been laid for something much bigger.

So yes, it’s both: an indie passion project with the drive to become a full-fledged studio experience.

  • Fate of Rimor has been in development for over 2 years. During that time, the solo developer behind Rimor Studios has worked tirelessly to lay the foundation for a truly immersive experience.

That foundation includes a massive amount of work behind the scenes:

    • Dozens of handcrafted biomes, each with unique mechanics and gameplay systems

    • A wide range of original monsters and cosmic creatures, complete with art and behavior design

    • An evolving blueprint for how abilities, vehicles, and exploration will shape gameplay

    • And most importantly, a deep narrative — filled with rich lore, complex characters, and a universe that feels ancient, mysterious, and alive

The story of Fate of Rimor has been carefully woven, from the personal journey of its protagonist Connor to the larger war between freedom and control that defines the fate of the universe itself. Every character, biome, and event ties back to this core conflict.

With the world, systems, and vision already mapped out, the next step is assembling the team that will bring it all to life. This isn’t a vague idea — it’s a living world waiting to be built.

  • Absolutely. Fate of Rimor is a massive vision, and while the foundation has been built solo, it’s time to bring in passionate people who want to help shape something truly unique.

Rimor Studios is currently seeking programmers, technical artists, and others excited by sci-fi, fantasy, and ambitious worldbuilding. While funding is still in progress, the goal is to bring on collaborators through revenue share, future payment contracts, or eventual full-time positions once backing is secured.

If you're looking to be part of a meaningful indie project — one that values creativity, storytelling, and pushing boundaries — reach out. Let’s build Rimor together.
